Brady, Connolly & Masuda Continuing Legal EducationHow The Virginia Surety Decision Impacts Coverage Firm Associate, Carrie A. Budzien, recently published a piece in the IDC Quarterly, the principal publication of the Illinois Association of Defense Trial Counsel. Ms. Budzien’s article discusses whether an employer who makes a Braye waiver of its Kotecki cap is without insurance coverage or whether the employer’s liability insurer must step in and provide coverage to the employer, in light of the recent Illinois Supreme Court decision in Virginia Surety. The article grew out of a symposium sponsored by IDC regarding Construction Insurance which Ms. Budzien helped plan. BCM Partner to Speak at REBEX Conference Firm Partner, John P. Connolly, is scheduled to present at REBEX on October 25, 2007, in Itasca, Illinois. REBEX annually brings together professionals from business and insurance to identify Risk Management issues and share strategies and solutions.
