Paul Berard has focused his practice on the defense of workers’ compensation claims and general liability claims since 2012. He has handled over 500 workers’ compensation claims and tried over 50 claims. He has litigated workers’ compensation claims in Wisconsin, Illinois, Missouri and Colorado administrative courts, circuit courts and appellate courts. He represents numerous national insurance carriers and third-party administrators.

Mr. Berard represents a wide variety of employers ranging from small businesses to Fortune 500 companies. He has handled every type of claim from minor strains and routine surgeries to complex spine injuries and death cases. He has obtained many outright denials of workers’ compensation claims after trial. He has successfully defended repetitive trauma claims for common conditions such as carpal and cubital tunnel syndromes, as well as more serious conditions such as total shoulder and total knee replacements. He has also obtained favorable decisions in high exposure wage differential and permanent and total disability claims.

Mr. Berard frequently presents on various workers’ compensation topics to insurance carriers and third-party administrators in Wisconsin, Illinois, Missouri and Colorado.
